Krescendi Investment Committee
Krescendi's Investment Committee has the following functions:
- Supervise the investment mandate and guidelines of the Fund;
- Help identify potential Target Companies;
- Evaluate every Target Company and investment opportunity presented by Krescendi management with the right to approve or reject it;
- Participate in due diligence of Target Companies;
- Approve a Term Sheet and later, an Investment Agreement with every Target Company;
- Help supervise and raise further rounds of financing for the investee companies.

John A. Duguid

John is joint founder and Managing Partner of The Argent Partnership Inc., a Canada-based corporate finance firm that arranges capital for domestic and international public and private corporations. The firm also provides strategic advice on projects and assistance with the researching, negotiation and execution of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
John has 25+ years of investment and corporate banking experience. Prior to the formation of “The Argent Partnership Inc.” in early 2000, John was Managing Director of the corporate finance division of a Toronto based Mergers & Acquisition firm, and prior to 1998 he worked for “NatWest Markets” (the former global investment banking arm of the UK-based “National Westminster Bank Group”). He had most recently served as Senior Vice President heading up the bank’s North American Infrastructure Group and has worked in the USA, Europe and Canada, primarily with the executive.
John’s industry experience includes: technology, energy, engineering & construction, transportation, manufacturing, environmental, food & beverages, government, and financial services. He has expertise with a broad range of capital markets products and services including: lending (structured, tax based, term and equity loans), equity capital, project advisory & financings, and mergers & acquisitions.

Howard Rosen

Howard is Managing Partner at “Low Rosen Taylor Soriano”, a professional boutique providing business valuation and litigation support services to the legal and business communities. He is also President of “Lead Dog Capital", a corporate finance and investment banking services firm. Previously Howard was the Canadian Managing Partner at “Arthur Andersen” for Valuation Services and Corporate Finance. The main areas of his expertise are accounting, business valuations, corporate finance, damages quantification and tax.
Howard has more than 22 years of business experience including all of the above areas in a wide variety of industries, with a particular emphasis on technology and biotechnology in the past three years. He has been involved in numerous valuation and corporate finance assignments where assessing appropriate risk-adjusted rates of return was the principal focus. He has been on numerous assignments for international and multinational companies where the focus was on “rationalizing the business structure”. Included in these engagements was the valuation of various business interests, advising on corporate structure, design of various capital instruments (debt and equity) including terms and rates of return and tax planning considerations. He was also involved in transaction advisory services encompassing international and multinational companies on deal structuring, value enhancement and tax planning, reviewing business structures for various regulatory bodies and as a court-appointed expert to assess business structures, fair value/fair market value, tax issues, profit expectations, and commercial reasonability of arms-length and non-arms-length transactions.
Howard holds following academic degrees: Chartered Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, Accredited Senior Appraiser (US), Certified Fraud Examiner and Honours Bachelor Business Administration. Howard has co-authored two textbooks and numerous articles on valuation and damages issues, and as well, has lectured to the business and legal communities on these issues.

Andrei Manoukovski, PhD, President & CEO
Andrei is the founder and the principal of Krescendi Inc., a Toronto (Canada) based venture capital firm, focused on early stage investments in innovative private companies seeking seed or start-up financing. Krescendi is involved in market research, selection of the most attractive private investment opportunities, extensive due diligence of target companies, development of different investment and liquidity schemes and mechanisms, as well as management and supervision of private equity portfolios for clients.
In total, Andrei has more than fifteen years of business and entrepreneurial experience with emphasis on starting up and managing private companies. His main responsibilities have always been leadership and strategic vision for new ventures, financial management, fundraising and human resources. Crisis management is another area where he has a proven track record.
He holds an Honour Bachelor's Degree from Moscow State Institute of International Relations and a PhD Degree in Economics from the same University. Later, Andrei took the following Executive programs:
- 1991 - “Top Executive Program” at Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia;
- 1993 - “Strategic Management and Organizational Behaviour” at Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University;
- 2000 - “Financial Analysis Program” at Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
Andrei is the author of numerous books and articles on economy and management and has extensive teaching experience at Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Institute of Business Studies (Moscow), INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France), Danish Management Centre (Copenhagen), Darden Graduate School of Business Administration (University of Virginia).
Andrei has been a board member of different non-profit organizations and companies. In Canada, Andrei sits on the Board of Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
