Krescendi Advisory Committee


Krescendi's Advisory Committee performs the following functions:
  • Consultation on all major financial and strategic decisions;
  • Review a proposed initial investment in a target company and comment on its fit within the mandate of the Fund;
  • Review and comment on the annual valuations of the Fund’s portfolio and assets;
  • Provide input on any other matters related to the Fund.


Krescendi's Advisory Committee is comprised of the following individuals.

Milton Hess

Milton is a senior partner with Stikeman Elliott. Stikeman Elliott is a global law firm with offices across Canada as well as New York, London, Hong Kong and Sydney. He has been particularly active in assisting foreign investors in establishing investments in Canada. His practice is built on experience in a wide variety of transactions, including conventional purchases and sales as well as structuring and developing new projects and joint ventures. Milton has considerable expertise in developing and implementing structured financing for public sector projects, including operating leases with private sector involvement. He has particular experience in other forms of real estate investment, such as real estate financing, commercial leasing, acquisition and sale of hotel properties and hotel management agreements, subdivisions, shopping centres and real estate company underwritings.

Milton is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, a former lecturer at the Bar Admission Course and a panel participant in various professional seminars. Milton is a past President and Director of the Granite Club Limited and a past Governor and Chairman of Royal St. George’s College and a Director of several corporations.

Dr. Cecil Shewchuk, Ph.D.

Cecil is President & CEO of London Technology Group (LTG). LTG is a business accelerator company based in London, Ontario that specializes in developing high technology software ventures. The objective of LTG is to develop these ventures commercially to a point when they can be spun off creating value for LTG shareholders. Cecil is currently involved with a number of new entrepreneurial ventures in the area of Application Software development. These start-up businesses provide innovative software products and services for industrial, commercial and scientific customers.

He has over 30 years experience in high tech software and business development. He was the founder of “Sacda Inc.”, a successful London (Ontario)-based high tech start-up company that developed a global business in its niche market of operator training simulators and process modeling.

Previously, Cecil was the Vice-President of Product Development and Marketing for “Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions”. This 400-person organization that produced and delivered the Advanced Applications Solutions for Honeywell worldwide. In this capacity, he was responsible for the strategic planning and general management of the Advanced Applications Product Development groups worldwide. .

As a faculty member at the University of Western Ontario, he has taught chemical and electrical engineering courses and was head of the SACDA Centre of Advanced Technology. His achievements have received international attention and he has been a frequent contributor of technical articles to trade journals and presenter at scientific conferences.

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1949, he graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Engineering and Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1971. He earned his doctorate in Chemical Engineering Computer-Aided Design from Cambridge University in 1974.

He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, Technical Section of the Pulp and Paper Association, the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Instrument Society of America.
